Grant L. Kim is a highly experienced independent arbitrator. He has handled over 70 international and domestic arbitrations as arbitrator or counsel. He has also served as counsel in numerous lawsuits, including jury trials. He has deep experience with intellectual property and technology, including biotech, computer software and hardware, semiconductors, and medical and mechanical devices. He also has extensive experience with distribution, sales, M&A, joint venture, construction, design, energy, and other business disputes.

Mr. Kim was a partner at a Global 50 law firm; developed the arbitration practice of a top Korean international law firm; and transitioned to the role of an arbitrator while a partner at a business boutique with a strong dispute resolution practice. He recently went solo so he can focus on arbitrator work. He uses his skills as arbitrator and counsel to manage cases in an effective manner.  Mr. Kim is well-versed with both international and U.S. arbitration practices and tailors the procedures to fit the specific dispute. He is responsive and well-prepared and digs into complex factual, technical, and legal issues. He provides feedback so the parties can address key points. He seeks to provide all parties with an adequate opportunity to be heard, while ensuring that the arbitration proceeds in a prompt, fair, and efficient manner

Mr. Kim frequently speaks about arbitration at conferences and is active in leading arbitral organizations. He welcomes arbitrator appointments in international and domestic commercial disputes in any venue. He is familiar with the laws of multiple jurisdictions and the rules of many arbitral institutions.  He is available to answer general questions about his experience, rates, and potential conflicts that do not involve the merits of a specific dispute.
